Slave Company Chapter 102 Possibility

This was Avian’s current standing theory.

But that still didn’t mean much without proper prove which is why Avian tamed the Horned Rabbit and also Crowned Crow though that one was more coincidental.

Avian’s whole purpose of taming these weak creatures was to train them and make them stronger naturally through physical training.

And when he thought about doing this. Avian did not immediately think about testing this on his 3 main monsters.

The reason being Avian still did not know much about it.

He wanted to test it first before he would actually start doing it.

Physical training itself didn’t sound difficult or risky since his party has been doing it for a month.

But they weren’t monsters tamed by Avian under his [Train Monster] ability. Anything involving the influence of a blessing could be very different from what one would usually think the outcome would be.

And as Avian himself had seen over the course of the past month. This turned out to be true as well as the Horned Rabbit he held in his hands was vastly different from the ones you see in the wild.

For one looking at the Horned Rabbit. You could clearly see it was much bigger than most average Horned Rabbits.

While most Horned Rabbits were between 20 to 30 centimeters tall if you didn’t include the Horn that grew from their forehead this one clearly was much bigger at least 50 centimeters tall.

It was tall, wide and long. And it wasn’t like this naturally. When Avian first captured it randomly out in the forest it was actually very small. Smaller than most average Horned Rabbits as it seemed to be the runt of the litter making it the smallest.

The whole reason it was caught by Avian was because it could not keep up with its brethren’s because of how small and slow It was. Avian too could have just captured a different Horned Rabbit instead of the runt of the group. But what he thought was actually that this one was the best as it completely hit all of Avian’s check marks for what he wanted.

He specifically looked for a Horned Rabbit because they were the first monster he thought of when he considered a weak creature with low almost close to no potential.

Horned Rabbits were incapable of reaching Rank 1 and stayed unranked for life.

The wolves Alvin the Wolf King tamed were similar though they could reach Rank 1 but no further.

The Giant Wolf that Alvin had tamed was the only exception as it was just as strong as a Rank 3 monster. The report regarding this stated that the Giant Wolf was likely a different sub-species of the wolf’s and therefore different as it had more potential.

But when the autopsy report was made. Strangely enough the Giant Wolf also seemed very similar to those Forest Wolves that Alvin ruled over. The people at the time simply thought that this Giant Wolf was a mongrel a result of a higher ranking wolf mating with a lower ranking wolf to cause something like this.

It was a distinct possibility. But again Avian thought differently as Alvin’s own ability to tame it once again didn’t make sense.

Avian instead believed that the Giant Wolf from the beginning was actually an ordinary Forest Wolf that Alvin had initially tamed and groomed.

It was his training that caused the ordinary Forest Wolf to turn into the Giant Wolf.

It other words Alvin had caused an evolution to occur that brought the ordinary Forest Wolf into a Giant Wolf.

It was a theory Avian initially didn’t put much stock into at the beginning. But after 1 month of training the Horned Rabbit and Crowned Crow. The results before him told him the truth.

Simply the size difference from 1 month before and now was just astonishing as if the Horned Rabbit Avian had captured was replaced at some point with Horned Rabbit as a practical joke of some sorts.

But it was not as the Horned Rabbit Avian was holding was the same Horned Rabbit he trained all along.

Disregarding the size difference though there were many more things that were different from the average Horned Rabbit.

For one even the Horn of the Horned Rabbit didn’t stay the same mid training.

Horned Rabbits actually do something similar to shedding their horns when they come to a certain age. Most Horned Rabbits shed their horns only 10 to 15 times in their lives before dying of old age if they didn’t meet an accident like getting eaten by a predator as they only lived for 10 to 12 years.

This Horned Rabbit on the other hand shed its horns over 10 times in this month alone at average once every 2 to 3 days. Avian collected all these horns and comparing them immediately told Avian that the quality, length, hardness and size of the horn increased each time it shed its horn anew.

The current Horn the Horned Rabbit had was the best it had. Everything about it looking and changed significantly from what it looked like from the very start as it initially had a small stumpy horn that wasn’t even pointy at the end and very fragile to boot.

It was pale and looked like a dried piece of bone instead of a proper horn.

Completely different as the current horn was both long, sturdy and somewhat ivory in color even. The pointy end so sharp that not even Avian would not want to be at the end of it comparable to his short spear.

It also had lush silky fur that was both thick, soft and elastic, its pawns wide, its legs very well developed, the color of the fur in those areas being strangely different as well as they had a tint of red to them like blood. But they were not some kind of stain as it was actually the Horned Rabbits natural fur color that was unique to the leg area.

Its eyes which used to be weak and dim were now bright and lively. It had an impressive pair of teeth powerful enough to bite through wood something Horned Rabbits could eat or at least what his Horned Rabbit could do as Avian saw it numerous times nibbling on a leafy branch and devouring it in one sitting within a minute.

Avian had yet to test this Horned Rabbit in live combat since he was solely focused on raising and training it. But Avian was confident it could actually deal with an unranked Forest Wolf. Avian’s confidence stemmed from the fact that while the Horned Rabbit wasn’t strong physically or had impressive durability and stamina. It had its own strengths, speed and flexibility being one of them as it was actually his fastest tamed creature.

The explosive speed this Horned Rabbit could produce within a second was so fast that most of his party members almost seemed unable to follow it as it seemed to leave after images in their view.

Combining this speed with its extremely pointy and durable horn and Avian could see with a little more training that the Horned Rabbit could easily impale a Forest Wolf in a sensitive area and instantly kill them.

Any person who stumbled upon this Horned Rabbit of his could die within an instant without even knowing how before the Horned Rabbit jammed its head into their skull.

Scary.

So how came this to be in the first place?

What did Avian do to create such a frightening Horned Rabbit?

Honestly. Even Avian was not completely sure. Avian’s initial training routine for the Rabbit was teaching it how to exercise its muscles.

But since the Horned Rabbit was fundamentally a different creature from other humans and other humanoids. Avian had to create a unique set of exercise routines that he made using his [Blood Sense] to see which movement exercised which muscle in its body which was an easy enough task that Avian only needed to record for a week before he knew every single movement that trained each and individual muscle in the Horned Rabbit.

He converted all those movements into a single set routine that he taught the rabbit using [Train Monster] variant, [Learn Trick].

And each day he kept forcing the Horned Rabbit to perform the same action until it was completely tired and could no longer move. Avian kept observing the Horned Rabbit in this stage to make sure he understood everything that went on in its body and to interfere if something bad happened.

He also took just as much care about the Horned Rabbit’s diet as his own party members. Feeding it good and nutritious vegetables each day in huge amounts as the Horned Rabbit even though it was small ate a ton. In its training, it never once missing a meal as it always ate after each set to replenish its body before going into sleep and performing the same action.

Train, eat, sleep.

Train, eat, sleep.

Train, eat, sleep.

This was the entire cycle it went through multiple times per day. At some point Avian did not even need to really supervise it anymore as the Horned Rabbit itself seemed to do it all by its own the moment he let it out in their training ground.

Avian also didn’t only make it do those things either. In his free time, he took great care of its mental health by playing with it regularly to socialize which his other party members did as well excluding Ogra who the Horned Rabbit was obviously frightened by because of how she looked at the Horned Rabbit like a tasty piece of meat and surprisingly Dahlia who for some reason seemed to dislike the Horned Rabbit making it frightened as well.

Avian didn’t understand why it was this way and what Dahlia had against the Horned Rabbit as they should logically get along since they were somewhat related even if they were biologically far apart from one another.

The others seemed to somewhat understand what was going on but they wouldn’t tell Avian merely smiling with a troubled look on their faces whenever this topic was brought up.

Even now while Avian was patting and hugging the Horned Rabbit that was seeking its master affection. The Horned Rabbit suddenly twitched its long ears before making them droop as it turned to the left for a second before instantly burying itself into Avian’s stomach trying to hide while shaking in fear. Avian could not understand why it was doing this and turned left to see Dahlia who was observing him from a small distance.

She had no eyes so her reading her expression was difficult for most people. But Avian could still read it and from what he saw it became apparent to him that Dahlia was glaring at the Horned Rabbit as if she had a problem with it.

Avian wanted to sigh as he didn’t understand what her problem was. But he ignored it for now as he Dahlia wouldn’t answer even if he asked her as she would just divert the topic.

-Calm down, even though you are now so big and muscular you are still so scared and frightened of everything around you. Well you are a rabbit but I wish you could learn to be a bit braver.

-Caw!

-See even the Crowned Crow aggress.

-Myuuuu!

The Horned Rabbit whined looking like it was being scolded and wronged for no reason giving the Crowned Crow on Avian’s shoulder what looked like an aggravated look while the Crowned Crow just seemed to laugh it up making fun of the Horned Rabbit while looking prideful.

At least that’s how Avian saw it as he developed the habit of talking with his tamed monsters over the past month. He also felt that he could vaguely understand them and communicate with them a lot more. Through this he found his tamed monsters to be very expressive with their own unique personalities. But Avian could also be projecting a bit too much as he knew that he may be seeing things that weren’t there in the first.

It didn’t really matter to him as he learned to enjoy training his monsters.

The Horned Rabbit and The Crowned Crow especially showed signs that proved his theory as they had changed through his [Train Monster] ability.

Even now they hadn’t stopped growing as the Crowned Crow was close to the size of an eagle even though it originally was only slightly bigger than any average crow.

But it still had not entirely proven anything as their growth could also be attributed to simple muscle training that increased their size and a good diet that gave them necessary nutrients to grow.

Avian could only prove he was right if they accomplished something most people in this world said was impossible especially for Horned Rabbits who were unranked creatures for life.

Ranking up.
